Pittsburgh’s Computer Reach is appropriately named. This AFTRR member nonprofit refurbisher recently shipped 24 iMacs and 24 HP inkjet printers to the Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council (CACRC), another AFTRR member with a long and productive history serving schools and nonprofits throughout the state of Louisiana. The “forgotten flood” of August, 2016 impacted over 160,000 homes, schools and businesses in the Baton Rouge area. The two damaged schools benefiting from this donation were the Cristo Rey Baton Rouge Franciscan High School and the Democracy Prep Baton Rouge. Both schools suffered significant damage due to the floodwaters.
AFTRR congratulates Dave Sevick, Executive Director of Computer Reach in Pittsburgh and Nancy Jo Craig, the Executive Director of CACRC in Baton Rouge for their dedication to their shared missions and their willingness to step up and respond to this natural disaster that left so many schools and families in need. We are proud to have such incredible people in our alliance.
